One Day District Level YRC Students’ Study Camp supported by IRCS TN Branch was organized by Dr. V. Sujatha, YRC District Organizer, Thiruvallur District. Sessions were covered on Health Awareness, History & Principles of Red Cross, Personality Development and Achievements of Indian Red Cross Society. Dr. N. Rajendra Naidu, Director for Research & Development, D.R. B. C. C. C. Hindu College, Thiruvallur delivered the Valedictory Address. 80 members participated.

Relief Materials Distribution:-

150 Set of Relief Materials, like, Bucket, Saree, Tarpaulin Sheet, Kitchen Set, Dhoti, etc., were distributed to the flood affected victims on 06.03.2016 at IRCS TNB Office Campus by Dr. Harish L Metha, Hon. Chairman, IRCS TNB, in the presence of Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, Hon. General Secretary, IRCS TNB Thiru M. Senthinathan, Hon. Treasurer, IRCS TNB, Thiru Narayanan A.K., Administrative Secretary, IRCS TNB, Dr. P.A. Sathiyanarayanan, Hon. Secretary, IRCS Chennai District Branch, Thiru K. Palanivel, Secretary, IRCS Aminjikarai Sub Branch, Thiru M. Muniraj Pandith, Secretary, IRCS Mylapore Sub Branch, Thiru Ravikumar, Secretary, IRCS Ayyanavaram Sub Branch and Thiru Manikandan, Patron, IRCS Mylapore Sub Branch.

 

Hong Kong Red Cross & IFRC Delegates’ Visits:-

Mr. Terry WONG Chi Ho, International & Relief Service Officer (IRSO), Hong Kong Red Cross, Ms.Karen POON Hiu Yee, Senior Programme Coordinator (SPC), Hong Kong Red Cross and Mr. Vijay Kumar Ummidi, Disaster Preparedness Manager, IFRC, New Delhi visited IRCS TNB between 08.03.2016 and 10.03.2016.

On 08.03.2016, North East Monsoon Flood Rescue & Relief Operations undertaken by IRCS TNB was reviewed by Hong Kong Red Cross & IFRC Delegates at IRCS TNB Conference Hall.  Thiru Narayanan A.K., Administrative Secretary, IRCS TNB welcomed,  presented the  effects of North East Monsoon in Tamil Nadu and Flood Response Activities undertaken by IRCS TNB.

Dr. Harish L Metha, Chairman IRCS TNB presided in the presence of Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, General Secretary, IRCS TNB, Thiru M. Senthilnathan, Hon. Treasurer, IRCS TNB, Mr. Terry WONG Chi Ho, International & Relief Service Officer (IRSO), Hong Kong Red Cross, Ms. Karen POON Hiu Yee, Senior Programme Coordinator (SPC), Hong Kong Red Cross and Mr. Vijay Kumar Ummidi, Disaster Preparedness Manager, IFRC who reviewed IRCS TNB Flood Response Activities.

In their august presence, 100 sets of Relief Items (supported by Hong Kong Red Cross) were distributed to the flood affected victims by the HKRC & IFRC delegates to the flood victims.

On 09.03.2016, as part of their Review Programme, the delegates of HKRC & IFRC visited flood affected areas,  such as,  Saidapet, Kotturpuram and Teynampet in Chennai for assessing the effects of Flood and discussed with the beneficiaries who received the Relief Items sponsored by  Hong Kong Red Cross in the presence of  Thiru G. Rajesh, DP Supervisor, IRCS TNB, Mr. M. Muniraj Pandit, Secretary, IRCS Mylapore Sub Branch, Mr. Manikandan, Patron, IRCS Mylapore and IRCS Chennai District Branch Volunteers.

On 10.03.2016, the team visited IRCS Arakkonam Warehouse and discussed with IRCS Warehouse Staff.

 

Singapore Red Cross Delegates’ Visits:-

Mr. Benjamin William, Secretary General, Singapore Red Cross and Ms. Charis Chan, Head International Operations, Singapore Red Cross visited IRCS TNB between 09.03.2016 and 11.03.2016 towards reviewing IRCS TNB Flood Response Activities.

On 09.03.2016, Relief Operations Review Meeting with Singapore Red was held at IRCS TNB Conference Hall.  Thiru Narayanan A.K., Administrative Secretary, IRCS TNB welcomed  & presented about effects of North East Monsoon in Tamil Nadu and briefed about various Flood Response Activities undertaken by IRCS TNB.  Dr. Harish L Metha, Chairman IRCS TNB presided in the presence of Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, General Secretary, IRCS TNB, Thiru M. Senthilnathan, Hon. Treasurer, IRCS TNB Mr. Benjamin William, Secretary General, Singapore Red Cross and Ms. Charis Chan, Head International Operations, Singapore Red Cross who reviewed IRCS TNB Flood Response Activities.

On 10.03.2016, Mr. Benjamin William, Secretary General, Singapore Red Cross and Ms. Charis. Chan, Head International Operations, Singapore Red Cross,  Mrs. Rina Tripathi, DM Advisor, IRCS NHQ, Thiru M. Karnan, DM Coordinator, IRCS TNB, Thiru K. Palanivel, Secretary, IRCS Aminjikarai Sub Branch, Thiru M. Muniraj Panidt, Secretary, IRCS Mylapore Sub Branch, Thiru Udayakumar, Secretary, IRCS Velacherry Sub Branch and Thiru K. Lawrence,  IRCS Chennai District Branch Volunteer visited flood affected areas,  such as,  Saidapet, Velacherry and Triplicane in Chennai for assessing the effect of Floods and discussed with the beneficiaries who received the Relief Items sponsored by Singapore Red Cross, as part of the IRCS TNB Flood Response Review Programme.

On 11.03.2016, 100 sets of Relief Items sponsored by   Singapore Red Cross were distributed to the flood affected victims by the delegates in the presence of Dr. Veer Bhushan, Secretary General (I/c), IRCS NHQ New Delhi and Mrs. Rina Tripathi, DM Advisor, IRCS NHQ, New Delhi, Dr. P.A. Sathiyanarayanan, Secretary, IRCS Chennai District Branch, Thiru Darshan Baskaran, Patron, IRCS Chennai District Branch and Office Bearers of IRCS TNB.

Followed by distribution of Relief Materials, on 11.03.2016, Mr. Benjamin William, Secretary General, Singapore Red Cross, Dr. Veer Bhushan, Secretary General, (I/c), IRCS NHQ, Dr. Harish L Metha, Chairman, IRCS TNB, Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, General Secretary, IRCS TNB, Thiru Narayanan A.K., Administrative Secretary, IRCS TNB Mrs. Rina Tripathi, DM Advisor, IRCS NHQ, New Delhi, Ms. Charis Chan, Head International Operations, Singapore Red Cross, discussed about collaboration between IRCS NHQ, IRCS TNB and Singapore Red Cross.

Mock Drill Events by CFMR Volunteers:-

 Mock Drills Programmes on Road Accident, First Aid, Fire Fighting, Lifting & Safe Transportation of Injured Person and Establishment of Temporary Shelters were organized by IRCS TNB on 08.03.2016 and 09.03.2016 with the CFMR Volunteers from IRCS Chennai District Branch duly demonstrated by the CFMR Volunteers headed by Mr. K. Palanivel, Secretary, IRCS Aminjikarai Sub Branch. Dr. P.A. Sathiyanarayanan, Secretary, IRCS Chennai District Branch, Mr. M. Muniraj Pandit, Secretary, IRCS Mylapore Sub Branch, Mr. Manikandan, Patron, IRCS Mylapore and Chennai District Branch volunteers participated.

Finance & Executive Committees’ Meetings of IRCS TNB were held on 18.03.2016 at IRCS TNB Conference Hall.  Dr. Harish L Metha, Chairman, IRCS TNB presided in the presence of Dr. D.A. Prabakar, Vice Chairman, IRCS TNB, Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, General Secretary, IRCS TNB Thiru M. Senthilnathan, Hon. Treasurer, IRCS TNB and Thiru Naryanan A.K., Admin. Secretary, IRCS TNB.  EC and FC Members participated.

On 19.03.2016, Managing Committee Meeting of  IRCS TNB was held  at IRCS TNB Conference Hall. Dr. Harish L Metha, Chairman, IRCS TNB presided in the presence of Dr. D.A. Prabakar, Vice Chairman, IRCS TNB, Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, General Secretary, IRCS TNB, Thiru M. Senthilnathan, Hon. Treasurer, IRCS TNB and Thiru Narayanan A.K., Admin. Secretary, IRCS TNB.  MC members participated. During MC Meeting, “Red Cross Appreciation Certificates” were distributed to the selected IRCS TNB Officers & Staff who excelled in their yeoman humanitarian services disregarding their personal comforts and for having exhibited highest degree of dedication, zeal and sustained hard work in Rescue & Relief Operations during recent floods in Chennai.

Appreciation Certificate Distribution Function:-

A function to distribute “Red Cross Appreciation Certificates” to the Donors / Philanthropists who had contributed in Cash / Kind / Blood Donation for the cause of Flood affected victims was held on 19.03.2016 at Hotel Ramada, Egmore, Chennai. Dr. D.A. Prabakar, Vice Chairman, IRCS TNB welcomed the gathering. Hon. Justice Thiru R. Mahadevan, Madras High Court presided and delivered presidential address in the presence of Dr. Harish L Metha, Chairman, IRCS TNB, Dr. D.A. Prabakar, Vice Chairman, IRCS TNB, Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, General Secretary, IRCS TNB,  Thiru M. Senthilnathan, Hon. Treasurer, IRCS TNB and Thiru Narayanan A.K., Administrative Secretary, IRCS TNB.

Hon. Justice Thiru R.Mahadevan, Madras High Court distributed the “Red Cross Appreciation Certificates” to various donors who contributed in cash and kind for the Floods and also by way of organizing highest number of Blood Donation Camps.  Thiru M. Senthilnathan, Hon. Treasurer, IRCS TNB Proposed Vote of Thanks. IRCS District Branch Secretaries / Chairmen, MC Members, MNC Representatives, Corporate Executives, AAI Officials and IRCS TNB Staff participated. Thiru Narayanan A.K, Administrative Secretary, IRCS TNB anchored the Programme.  A High Tea was arranged for all the participants.

 

 

CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

The Department of Health, Govt. of Tamil Nadu organized a function to distribute Appreciation Certificates to the Staff of Health Department. In that Dr.C.Vijayabaskar, Hon. Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Tamil Nadu had istributed Appreciation Certificates to Dr.Harish L Metha, Chairman, IRCS TNB, Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, General Secretary, IRCS TNB, Thiru Naryanan A.K., Administrative Secretary, IRCS TNB, Thiru P.Ruban Santhosh, FHS Manager, Thiru J.Syed Ali, IRCS TNB amidstother FHS/JSSK staff members  for their yeomen services during recent floods in Chennai.

155377 – FREE HEARSE SERVICE News Letter Report – Mar’16

All the vehicles allotted for Free Hearse Service were on road and were utilized cent percent for the transportation of deceased to various places in Tamil Nadu. 7882 corpses were transported by 151 Free Hearse Mortuary Vans during the month of Feb’16 from various Government Medical Teaching and Non Teaching Institutions to the native places of the deceased at the request of their relatives in all 32 Districts of Tamil Nadu. The cumulative figures of bodies transported right from the inception are 324879 corpses as on 31st March ’16.
