Lalgudi Educational District:-

An Awareness Programme on Fire Safety and Rescue was organized for the JRC Counsellors and JRC Volunteers. The Fire & Rescue officials explained about basics of Fire Fighting and lifting Methods besides demonstrating the Fire Fighting Techniques to the participants. Youth Red Cross

One Day District Level Students’ Study Camp supported by State Branch was organized by Dr. J. Sulaiman, YRC District Organizer, Chennai District on 08.09.2015 at Red Cross premises. Dr. P. A. Sathinaryanan, District Secretary, Chennai District Red Cross Branch, delivered the Presidential Address and Dr. G. Bhaskaran, YRC Zonal Co-ordinator, University of Madras, delivered the Inaugural Address. Sessions were covered on History & Principles of Red Cross, YRC Structure, Personality Development Skills, First Aid Awareness, Self Defense. Dr. B. Kanika, Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Chennai Region delivered the Valedictory Address. Thiru. M.S.M. Nasruddein, Gerneral Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch distributed the Certificates. 85 Students participated from 16 Colleges.

155377 – Free Hearse Service

All the vehicles allotted for Free Hearse Service were on road and were utilized cent percent for the transportation of deceased to various places in Tamil Nadu. 7454 corpses were transported by 151 Free Hearse Mortuary Vans during the month of Sep’15 from various Government Medical Teaching and Non Teaching Institutions to the native places of the deceased at the request of their relatives in all 32 Districts of Tamil Nadu. The cumulative figures of bodies transported right from the inception are 275478 corpses as on Sep’15.

Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK)

Government of India launched Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) to be implemented nationally where all the pregnant women offering for delivery at Health Institutions and treated sick new born up to one year will get free transport service. To implement this Scheme as a Pilot Project covering all the major Obstetrics & Gynecology Women & Children Hospitals at Chennai, Government of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project, decided and engaged the services of Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch for implementation of this Project. Around 15 vehicles will be provided for operation. New Initiative of Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch.
