Ayanavaram Sub Branch:-

Human Rally was organized in coordination with North Educational District on 03.09.2016. The Rally went through Kolathur, Lakshmipuram and Bhavani Nagar. Handbills about causes, preventive measures and remedies for Dengue, H1N1 and Malaria were distributed to  general public. Thiru S. Ravikumar- Secretary, IRCS Ayanavaram Sub Branch,  Dr.R.Rajaram,  JRC Convenor, JRC Counsellor and JRC Juniors attended.

Annual General Meeting was held on 30.09.2016 at IRCS Katpadi Sub Branch Office Campus. Office Bearers were elected during the Meeting. IRCS Life Members and MC members attended.

Tenkasi sub Branch:-

An Awareness Programme on First Aid was conducted on the eve of “World First Aid Day” on 20.09.2016 at Mass Community & Para Medical College, Tenkasi. Thiru Mohamed Ansari, Founder, welcomed the gathering.  Dr.K.P. Sankara Kumar, Chairman, FA Sub Commitee, presided in the presence of Thiru Sakthivel, Vice Chairman, IRCS Tenkasi. Tmt. Anitha, RDO & Vice President, IRCS Tenkasi Sub Branch inaugurated and addressed the gathering. Thiru Mohan, DFO felicitated. Thiru S. Vairavaraj and Thiru Murugan facilitated the sessions on Disaster Management and First Aid.

One Day JRC Workshop for School Headmasters was conducted on 01.09.2016 at Ilayankudi Hr. Sec. School. Thiru Senthilvel Murugan, CEO presided. Thiru A.E.John Mohammed, Headmaster welcomed all. Haji. T.S.H. Muzafar Abdul Rahman, Correspondent and Thiru P. Manickkam, DEO felicitated. Thiru S. Kalaichelvan, Secretary, IRCS Sivagangai District Branch explained the Principles, History and Activities of Red Cross. Thiru M. Udayakumar proposed Vote of Thanks.

 

Thiru A.E. John Mohammed, JRC Convener Sivagangai Educational District received Tamil Nadu Govt. Best Teacher (Dr.Radhakrishnan) Award on 05.09.2016.

155377 - Free Hearse Service

155377 – FREE HEARSE SERVICE

All the vehicles allotted for Free Hearse Service were on road and were utilized cent percent for the transportation of deceased to various places in Tamil Nadu. 7867 corpses were transported by 151 Free Hearse Mortuary Vans during the month of September  2016 from various Government Medical Teaching and Non Teaching Institutions to the native places of the deceased at the request of their relatives in all 32 Districts of Tamil Nadu. The cumulative figures of bodies transported right from the inception are 3,71,808 corpses as on 30th September 16.

These services are also extended to the Taluk,  Non Taluk Hospitals and Primary Health Centers of all the 32 Districts.

 

These services are also included for transportation of Corpses from the death spot to Hospitals for post-mortem with the help of crime report received from the Police Department.

 

20 corpses from Govt. Hospital and Govt. Medical College Hospital, Chennai were transported through RAILWAYS to other Districts in September 16. The cumulative figures of corpses transported through Rail right from the inception are 895 Corpses as on 30th September 2016.

Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK)

Government of India launched Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) to be implemented nationally where all the pregnant women offering delivery at Health Institutions and treated sick new born up to one year of age will get free transport service. To implement this Scheme as a Pilot Project covering all the major Obstetrics & Gynaecology Women & Children Hospitals at Chennai, Government of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project, decided and engaged the services of Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch. Around 15 vehicles were earmarked for operation as a Pilot Project by Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch.

On 1st November 2013, Government of Tamil Nadu established Mother Drop Back Vehicle Project (JSSK) in the State on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode through the Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch. To start with, only 5 Drop Back Vehicles were put into services for implementation of the DBV in Chennai.

3,904 Mothers with babies were transported by 34 Drop Back vehicles during the month of September’16 from various Government Maternity Hospitals to the home. The cumulative figures of Mothers with babies transported right from the inception are 68,984 Mothers with Babies as on 30th September 2016.

First Aid

Indian Red Cross Society is constituted under the enactment of Parliament Act XV of 1920. It is a pioneering Organization aiming to alleviate human sufferings in any form and caretakers for fulfilling Humanitarian Needs. Both Indian Red Cross Society and St John. Ambulances (India) are working under one umbrella at National Head Quarters under the Head of Secretary General Indian Red Cross Society and St.John. Ambulance (India) at NHQ New Delhi. St.John Ambulance, National Head Quarters New Delhi authorized Red Cross Branches in all States and UTs to impart First Aid Trainings and issue Certificates in First Aid on the pattern of St.John Ambulance. As part of its activities, Indian Red Cross Society Tamil Nadu Branch is imparting First Aid Training Programmes all over Tamil Nadu for School & College Students, Professionals, General Public, Teachers/ Professors, Nurses and all other Department Officials and Staff.
