155377 - Free Hearse Service

155377 – FREE HEARSE SERVICE

All the vehicles allotted for Free Hearse Service were on road and were utilized cent percent for the transportation of deceased to various places in Tamil Nadu. 8,014 corpses were transported by 151 Free Hearse Mortuary Vans during the month of October  2016 from various Government Medical Teaching and Non Teaching Institutions to the native places of the deceased at the request of their relatives in all 32 Districts of Tamil Nadu. The cumulative figures of bodies transported right from the inception are 3,79,832 corpses as on 31st October 2016.

Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK)

 

Government of India launched Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) to be implemented nationally where all the pregnant women offering delivery at Health Institutions and treated sick new born up to one year of age will get free transport service. To implement this Scheme as a Pilot Project covering all the major Obstetrics & Gynecology Women & Children Hospitals at Chennai, Government of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project, decided and engaged the services of Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch. Around 15 vehicles were earmarked for operation as a Pilot Project by Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch.

The Pre Monsoon / Disaster Mitigation Meeting:-

The Disaster Mitigation pre Monsoon meeting held on 22.10.201 at 10.30 a.m. at Red Cross premises. Thiru. Avinash Rai Khanna, Vice – Chairman, IRCS, National Headquarter, New Delhi presided in the presence of Thiru Manish Choudhry, Deputy Secretary, IRCS NHQ. Dr. Harish L Metha, Chairman, IRCS TNB welcomed the gathering and honoured the Guests in the presence of IRCS TNB Office Bearers Thiru M.S.M. Nasruddin, General Secretary and  Dr.P.A. Sathianarayanan, Hon. Treasurer. Thiru Narayanan A.K., Administrative Secretary, explained the activities undertaken by IRCS TNB during  2015 Floods in Greater Chennai Region. Prof. A. Physiotherapy And Fitness Center

The Centre treated 986  cases in October 2016. Many commonest Orthopaedic problems, like, Back Pain, Neck pain, Shoulder pain and various Sports Injuries were treated here and Neurological patients, like, Stroke Patients, Head injury, Cerebral palsy, Mentally Retarded children were also provided requisite treatment.

Family Counselling Centre

The Family Counselling Centre is a Project of Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch under the grant of Central Social Welfare Board. It has completed seventeen years of dedicated service to the Society. It has successfully dealt more than 5,381 cases. During October 2016, 12 cases were dealt by this Centre to the satisfaction of the affected people as under:-

  • Marital case – 4
  • Pre – Marital – 1
  • Psychiatric case – 5
  • General – 2
